What is PERCUTANEOUS TECHNIQUE? The hair transplant technique allows grafting of 5,500 micro-grafts (12,500 – 15,000 hair follicles) within one day of grafting. The selection of all patients of the Our Health Group indicates that the grafting method and technique of the specialist team is a major factor in the desired result.

The Hair Transplant in estethica with Sapphire Percutaneous Technique

The home of healthy beauty, uses the world’s latest and most innovative methods in all its procedures with hair transplantation being no exception with hair, moustache, beard and eyebrow transplants successfully performed in our health centres. One of the most innovative methods is the Sapphire Percutaneous Technique, and estethica is the first to use this in Turkey.

Harvesting hair follicles:

Hair follicles are ‘harvested’ from the nape of the neck, known as the safe region, with low RPM micro punches under local anaesthetic. These micro punches are able to take multi-follicle grafts (with two or more follicles) without harming them.

Preparing the transplant area:

There are 2 different methods to prepare the areas the hair follicles are to be transplanted:

Classic slit method

This widely used method makes use of two dimensional slits that are opened with the aid of a fine surgical scalpel in areas the hair follicles are to be transplanted.

If we take these slits as being 2-5mm in length, the total length of all the slits for a 4000-follicle transplant is around 8-20 metres. The number of slits made is one of the most important factors determining recovery length and amount of scarring. It is also possible for the slits themselves to harm healthy hair follicles in the transplant area, and to cause gangrene (necrosis). A lot of liquid needs to be applied meaning that swelling can be observed approximately 7-10 days after the procedure.

estethica Sapphire Percutaneous Technique

This is a special method used in a limited number of clinics across the globe, mainly in America. Rather than into slits, the hair follicles are transplanted into three-dimensional channels created with very fine needles.

The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique method carries the lowest possible risk of harming the transplant area as the channels opened are of the same width as the hair follicles and the recovery period is 2 times as fast. The transplant area recovers in as short a time as 2-3 days and doesn’t leave any scarring. These fine channels can be made in between individual hair follicles thus preventing any harm from coming to them. The amount of liquid applied with The Sapphire Percutaneous Techniqueis also lower, meaning that visible post-treatment swelling is also lower.

Transplanting the hair follicles:

One of the major advantages of the percutaneous technique is that it leaves a ‘natural result’, and here the key factor in obtaining a natural result is the angle the hair follicles are transplanted.

The slits created with the slit method are larger than the hair follicles which cannot be transplanted at a natural angle as the angle of the slits cannot be adjusted. Moreover, the transplanted hair follicles may move around in the slits, changing their angle, and may even fall out.

The density of the transplanted hair follicles is also important for a natural-looking and successful hair transplant.

With the slit method, there is the need to leave space between the relatively large slits so that they can heal and this limits the possible transplant density. This means that a result of full, thick hair is not possible.

Hair follicles transplanted with The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique via hair-fine three-dimensional channels are transplanted at the most natural angle and cannot move around, meaning it is impossible for this angle to change after the transplant. The hair follicles are inserted into the channels by holding onto the hair itself, preventing any harm from being caused to the follicles.

The use of small channels with The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique creates the possibility of having many channels in close proximity to each other, meaning that the percutaneous technique is able to afford twice as much density with as many as 40-50 being possible per cm2 of scalp, creating a very thick-looking head of hair.

The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique is a reason why many of our patients who do not like taking unnecessary risks to get high-quality results choose estethica for their hair transplant. It is currently used only in the world’s leading clinics, mainly in America.

It is possible to transplant up to 6000 grafts (12,500 – 15,000 hair follicles) in a single session with The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique which is the preferred option of many of our informed foreign patients as it offers less hair follicle loss/wastage and risk.

We recommend that you rest for 1 day after this painless, 5-8-hour procedure before returning to your normal life. Hair will begin to appear from the transplanted follicles from 3 months onwards after the procedure and all of them will have begun to grow at most 1 year later.

You don’t like the idea of a normal hair transplant…

Let’s meet at the home of healthy beauty for a hair transplant that can provide the correct angle, thick hair, a natural and successful result and a return to normal life in a few days!
