Fairy Tales of Capadocia (South)

You will meet up with your Professional Tour Guide at your hotel then your fisrt stop will be  Derinkuyu Underground City which is the biggest excavated underground city in Cappadocia. Your guide will lead you through the complicated tunnels to the deepest level of the city. Near Derinkuyu, you also have a chance to take pictures of the historical St Theodorios Trion Church.

Afterwards, you will be driving to  Ihlara Valley which  is the most striking spot of the day as it is a place where the natural beauties are intertwined with ancient structures. Ancient Melendiz River is dividing the valley into two parts. While you are walking through the river for 4 kms, you will visit hidden Byzantine churches on both sides that were carved into the rocks.

After Ihlara, you will have a lunch in a local Anatolian restaurant where you will have the opportunity to taste local delicacies.

Next destinations are Belisirma and Selime Villages where you will see rock-cut churches and houses that have still been inhabited by local Cappadocians. Then you will be taken to the exact spots where some scenes of Star Wars Movie were filmed.

Final destination of the day is a crater lake called Lake Nar. The hot sulfurous water still bubbles up in the lake and the water is curing for the body. Walking around the burnt-looking soil of the  lake, you may come across the black obsidian that was prized by Paleolithic and Neolithic people for making tools and weapons.
